Default External oil pump for turbo....

Anyone know a good brand or where to get something like this?? I'm basically making an external oiling system just for the turbo, don't want the oil to be shared with the engine. What brand or where can I find an external oil pump for something like this? Any idea's?

This one will work fine. I'm contemplating doing the same thing as you. Check over at www.turbomustangs.com. There are alot more people doing this type of thing over there. It's a good place for info.

I was going to do the same thing but I was told by the boys at my local ls1 speed shop, that there is not enough oil in a external system to circulate through the system and cool sufficiently; so the oil gets too hot. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work but you prob. need a good size volume of oil and cooler w/ an elect. fan.

That was my plan , to route the oil through an oil cooler and to have a small electric fan running near it as well .

I have a few Hitachi oil pumps I use on race cars for diff cooling. I also made a couple of turbo oiling setups with this pump. You need a high pressure & high flow pump. The Hitachi flows at 5 lpm and 50 psi. I can let these go for $160.00. Email me at:

info@microdynamic-engineering.com

You really don't need an oil cooler. I would set it up with a 2 l tank and you will almost never see the oil temp exceed 210f. BTW the pump can handle 350f. The Mocal can only handle 300f.
