I'm using a Ligenfelter/Holly ls6 style aluminum intake on my 6l tt car. Bolted down no with no vacuum leaks. 90mm tb. It's a nice piece. Does use paper gaskets but at least they are cheap. I've seen factory style gasket fail just as I've seen papers fail. I'm not scared to use them. I chose this intake for the clearance and the fact it wasn't composite, yes aluminum does heat soak, but I feel more comfortable knowing that if something happens and it predetonates or something along those lines my intake wont shatter, crack or explode many people do use the plastic intakes with great success. Idk if I'd ever pay 450+ dollars for a used ls6 though. Id rather get the proffessional products intake that comes with everything than pay for something 10+ years old. Just my opinion. I don't want to start a war on whats better or not.

That is thet set up I have. But not forced induction. Currently torn apart for head gaskets and swapping to L92 top end.

nobody is running the hi-rise holley?! i'd thought more people were using them with FI

Mid-rise is a strange one, and again would love to see tests.

it looks terrible from a flow perspective, basically as it is designed for a twin carb application. Small turbulent ports...

However, small turbulent ports isnt always a bad thing if they do flow fairly well. But from a visual point of view...it does look terrible inside.

That short Holley sort of looks like "if you can't fit the tall one, try this" design.

As said though, until you try it, hard to say. A rather expensive experiment.

Thanks for the replys.
I would like to see some results from say a victor jr fi manifold and a elbow or a GMPP single plane fi intake and an elbow.
I am assuming they should work better than an ls6 intake. With the cost and how fragile they are(ls6) I would rather spend a little more and have a better set-up for possible future up grades.

LS6 has nice runners and a good plenum...so really, not much bad about it. Would hardly call them fragile either ?

Plenum volume is something all the carb intakes lack.
