Default NEED InPuT NoW!! e85 or meth?? step inside real world users

Setup will be a

5.3 stock with tu1 cam
stock 706 heads with .600 lift springs for cam above
ls6 intake 3 bar map sensor
stock t.b and fuel system minus twin 255 pumps
Huron Speed turbo v1 kit
gt45 80mm with 1.15 a/r t4 housing 77 exd

th400 t brake and the works 3600 stall turbo specd for 21lbs

3.27 gear on 275 50 15 mt drags

Now should I go e85 or meth?

I plan to push over 18lbs of boost on this setup
I can run e85 approved fuel lines and was looking at 80# inject. for the build but dont know If I will need 95s?

Or can I run 60#s with a meth kit? OR just 80s and use meth anyway?

Im a midwest car and e85 is all over and so is 93premium. I would like to drive it around with zero issues and not worry about any headaches.

So have you guys had both on your car and now prefer one over the other?

There are a lot of high powered street cars on both setups of fuel. But If I plan to push over 20lbs of boost what should I do?

I need input now!!!!!!!!!!!
thx

2 255's will run out of steam way before you reach your boost goal on E85. Esp. with 80's. You need to match your pumps pressure and flow rating with the injectors and fuel you want to run.

Personally if you want to run that much boost I'd go the E85 route, tack on another 255 pump and the 80's would be ok to 800ish whp with high 58-65 base pressure.

For an LS motor and injectors sure. But those 80lb injectors are rated at 43psi like most aftermarket injectors.

do the fuel system once and do it right
2 walbro 400lph e85 pumps
120# inj (holley sells affordable ones)

e85 and never look back. its approx 105 octane.... why run a band aid like meth inj and pump gas. Run e85 and meth inj if you want extra protection.

The limit of your power level will be how much you dare to push on stock rods.
what year 5.3?

I'd get bigger injectors just so you have a bit of overhead but that's just me.

if you are gonna run 18+ psi on E85 I would strongly suggest getting bigger injectors than 80s

I started with 120s when I switched now Im running 160s

If available run E85. Coming from the import world I have seen what E85 can do for a setup and it's awesome stuff if your fuel system is setup right.

Im e85, have the holley 120's and a magnafuel mp4303 (external pump), at 18lbs and 43psi base I'm at %90dc. 88mm turbo, gen 1 355. Going to raise the base pressure. I vote for e85, it is very forgiving and has a wide tuning window. I blew off the fuel pressure reg reference line, nice lean spike, on another occasion blew off the wastegate line and hit 23lbs... Engine still running strong.

Also will those big (physically) holley injectors fit into a stock intake? Do you have to get aftermarket rails?

If I remember correctly skinnies also uses 80s with 3 pumps and bumps the line psi up to about 70. He does over 20lbs and 900hp on that setup!

SO why not just do this on a regular basis for turbo enthusiasts?

159mph in my fox on the mud and snow tires on 80lb injectors running 100psi with boost, they are good to 950rwhp with the correct pressure.

We have done quite a few cars at 850+ rwhp on 80lb injectors with less pressure and ran them for LOTS of street miles and no issue.

The injector duty cycle is a calculated number, it DOESN'T stop adding fuel at 100% like most people think, almost every test we have done it stops in the 140-146% range. We have seen ZERO issues running injectors at the higher duty cycle with e85 on street cars.

This is the kind of real world info I like to see.

I have been looking around for the long high impedance 120s that are a direct fit for the 5.3 truck intake but no go. By reading this I think im just going to get the 80s to get the truck running.
