My motor was overboosted once.....2 cracked stock pistons.

Alot of people say the deltagate is crappy, when you buy the T76 kit you get an upgraded WG. Maybe its time to upgrade anyways??

My boost goes up to what ever I have it set at and stays there until about 4200RPM then it falls off to 9.5psi. i cranked it up again last night trying a few thing to get it to hold boost but no luck I had it all the way up to 16psi but as soon as i hit 4000rpm it started droping off like always ended up with 10psi @ 6200rpm.
So if I blocked off the wastgate I would Totally over boost my motor up untill 4000rpm

With race gas,low compression, and forged pistons you will be able to run at least 20 PSI, but I understand your concern.

this is starting to sound really familiar.. you are going to have to get a bigger a/r exhaust housing or just get a larger turbo completely to fix your problem.

Larger on the exhaust side to lower exhaust manifold backpressure MM?

yes sounds like the turbine is stalling from the excessive pressure.

his built motor is making a lot of exhaust on that bank.. apparently too much for the little 60hifi housing to pass.

whats your maf reading? at 13psi on a mostly stock 6.0 i often max my maf by 5000rpm, i would say i am at 65lb's of air or higher.

the kit i have has a 2.5" cross over, 2.5" log and a 3" down pipe. with a t76 my boost presure holds steady.

i would think with ported heads you are flowing more air than me and just runing out of turbo.

I agree with MM, the turbo is just too small. Get that T-76 on there and I think it will hold boost to redline. May spike because of the small wastegate, but it will hold to 6200 rpm.

My MAF is right at 439gms/cyl @ 5800rpm so it`s pretty much maxed. MM does the T76 have a larger exhaust housing or would I need to go with a larger A/R to lower back pressure?

looking at that compresor map above at 13psi and 60lb's of air you are completley outside of the map. seems like you are out of turbo to me.

t76 is going to kick *** on your car!!, i made 500rwhp at 12psi thru a 4l80e, tcase and 32"tries

yea, I can't wait to get the new turbo. I'm also working on getting a engine managment system that uses a 3bar map sensor to replace my stock ECU if that all works out i'm shooting for 600rwhp or more.
