Default boosted 4.8.

My uncle bought my 5.3 out of my sonoma. So I've inherited his 4.8 for free. I'd like to through some boost to it. I've search and some say open ring gap ls9 gaskets and rod bolt and others say not to so I'm looking for some help as to what to do to make good power. I'd like 550 rwhp.

Stock 4.8 706 head.
I have a 228 trickflow cam from my 5.3. .585 .585 on 112 lsa. Sound I use this or sell in and go for a different one. I have match .600 llift trick flow springs also.

6.0 truck intake or ls1 intake. I have both

Truck weighs 3700. Has yank 3600. 8.8 373. With 4l65e. Built.

I was leaning t words gt45 with 60 lb injectors and pump gas. Or what turbo would work best. Truck ran 12.4 with 5.3 and cam. Looking to better that.

From what I have read (hope I am not wrong) "truck manifolds have the longest intake runners for low end torque. So yes you will lose low end torque switching over to car based intakes but gain in midrange and the high end of the power band by doing so".

550whp in a relatively light chasis is not pushing it hard. If you can be happy leaving it here just run it as it is. If you think you might want to bump it up later, open up the ring gap, throw in some MLS gaskets and head studs then it will be ready for more when you are ready.

Thanks for the info. My 5.3 had the ls1 car intake. But the more I looked into it people say the truck intake pulls like the ls6. But I've never seen real world results.

Should I run my stock cam or the trick flow.
