Well I figured I would start a build thread, lots of parts have been ordered. I think i have everything planned out pretty well. This is a 2001 Pontiac trans am with an rpm transmission TR6060 Magnum level 7 & MWC fabricated 9".
Goals = Mainly wanting a fun street car that will turn heads everywhere I go. Looking to put down 800 rwhp. Boost will not be turned up that high very often.
-Engine-
Thompson motorsports forged shortblock rated for 1,200 HP
TMS 5.3 shortblock all forged
TMS forged crankshaft
TMS 4340 forged h-beam rods with arp rod bolts
forged diamond -3cc pistons
arp main stud kit
Tick spec cam 217/225 114+3 .637/.620
Hardened push rods
Johnson 2116LSR reduced travel lifters
PRC dual valve springs with titanium retainers
Cloyes timing chain
Trick flow timing chain dampener
TSP PRC as cast 225CC heads (9.6:1 CR ratio)
ARP head studs
Melling high pressure oil pump

Precision billet 7675 with .96 a/r
BMR turbo K member
Turbo smart hyper gate 45
Tial Q bov
Turbo wrap titanium fiberglass
Eboost 2 (boost controller)
Stainless works 3.5" catback with qtp electric cutout.
-Transmission-
Built tr6060 6 speed
Tick master cylinder
Monster lt1-sc twin disk clutch

No need to build it if it's already been opened up and checked. Also since it's a 2005 it has the Gen IV rods. Make sure it avoids detonation and let it eat. It will be fine.

I have basically the exact same setup ready to go into my car except I have the 1.15 a/r on my 7575. I am really really curious how far this turbo will go on a 5.3. I am hoping 850+whp but I guess we will see.

I think that's how he does most of his tunes but I am not 100% for sure on it.
I decided to do my own tuning. I figure on e85 and low boost I should have a decent enough margin of error to learn what to do and not to do. Plus I had a lot of fun tuning my NA truck.

Yes and dyno.
He works out LSXKilr in Lawrence. He actually spends time dynoing the car, the polishes it up on the street. Skinnies and MaxxMitchell actually created a dual fuel setup with a double injected intake manifold setup to have both e85 and pump gas running off the stock ecm.
