Help me out! What heads?
Situation is as follows. Last year I bought a 408 with CNC ported LS3 heads setup for NA/Nitrous.
Fast forward to a month ago I bent some rods in my stock 6.0 and decided to rebuild the 408 for boost.
Now i get the short block assembled with new pistons/bearings and this is when I realize the LS3 heads must have been decked some as I had to drill out the holes that locate the intake mani for it to sit flush.
Sorry this was long winded but basically I know deck thickness is critical so my options right now are
1 - Believe in my tuneup and run the LS3 heads and hope they dont push water. Pros - No LS turbo car I have built/tuned has pushed water but I have also always used 317s or aftermarket castings. Also they should make more power. Cons - I push water, maybe torch a head
2 - I could run the bone stock 317s I have that were on my 6.0. - Pros I have run 317s with great results. Just went 9.0 on them. Cons - Less power
