It's chinese and cheap. Will probably work ok for some street car guys but don't expect performance or reliability of an american made turbo.

I believe this is the same turbo as the vsracing 88mm pt88 clone but its only $550 from vs racing with free oil line and drain kit. Denmah is using this on his latest fairmont build.

Ya, I am very disappointed with my cheap chinese 88/80 turbo from VS racing. It only made 658 rwhp on 14psi through a loose converter, turbo 400 on a L33 with the 216/220 cam. It ONLY went 9.6 at 146mph on 18psi with the same converter in a 3200lb car. Would have cranked the boost on the dyno, but one of my fuel pumps died so we left it there. Putting in a new converter and maybe will get some fast times! Oh, I have driven it a fair bit on the street, dyno'd it and raced it and it is still in perfect shape. Have a buddy who builds race cars and uses these turbos all the time without a single failure. Maybe one day I can buy a real turbo and not be so disappointed!

Like I said, they can be good options for guys with street cars. They are not a good idea for anyone class racing or looking to get everything they can out of a turbo of a given size.

9.6 is a good number for a street car. You need to keep that in perspective, though. Look at the guys in ultra street running 5.00 (high 7s) with 76s and cast 80s. Its just two different worlds.

If ebay turbos worked just as good as the other companies, (Bullseye, Garrett, Borg, PTE, etc) then those companies would be out of business. There is a place for everything in this high performance market.

I do agree that a BW will out perform a Chinese turbo, but for anything less than 750 rwhp they can't be beat for price and have been proven dead nuts reliable.

I doubt the price/quality ratio is better than a BW 476 480.

Some need more room, hence the On3 turbo, as it's physically smaller.

i was going to say the exact same thing,

ive worked on cars with big baller FI turbos and cheapest china turbos i could buy

depending on your goal you get the turbo you need

but the china turbos can slam out 500+whp thru an automatic without even trying. and 200-400 dollars is incredible pricing

Plus as someone stated the available real estate in the engine bay makes or breaks some of us.....the cost of these Ching Chang turbos does help. I know there are compact/small frame turbos which are awesome available but for the price the China turbos are hard to beat unless you have some serious goals. I mean 500+rwhp for under $400 for a T4 turbo?
