Default Best Boost Intake

What are you guys running for intakes when using a turbo.

It will be a 6.0 with 317 heads and a S480

I was figuring either an Holley Tunnel ram of and Edelbrock with an elbow.

What do you guys think?

Thanks in advance,

Gary

LS6 intake for me. Any reasons why LS6 intake isn't good enough?

If there was a such thing as a best boost intake, everyone would run it and nothing else and you wouldn't be asking this question because it would be obvious...

i think i read somewhere on here that all LS model intakes, stock and aftermarket, have hit over 1000hp on boost. so if you had a LS6 id just run that. but i am curious to see how the new MSD intake would work with boost.

Stock ls1 intakes makes the least power of the stockers, and there's a guy here running 7.80s in the quarter on one.

Take your pick, you'll do fine.

Whichever one fits. They all will perform fine.

I run the Victor Jr. with a tall elbow as it served to route the inter cooler piping in the best location.

With the stock entry air intake it put the inter cooler piping in the way of too many other items.

The Holley Hi-Ram looks awesome but causes some packaging problems. I would think that whatever one fits the best and makes the fab work easier would be my choice.

I figured intake choice would be more critical. I don't have any stock LS intakes besides a Truck 5.3 intake and I figured that would not be a good choice, and it looked like I could buy an aftermarket intake for the same cost as a stock one.

This is going to be a Bonneville project and I was worried about the added heat from the turbo on a 5 mile pull on a plastic intake. I guess I will see if I can dig up an LS6 intake someplace for a reasonable price.

If you do a little research on these forums the OEM intakes have been discussed to death. The 5.3 truck intake is on par with a LS6 intake. If you have one and it will fit, run it. The gen 4 truck intakes look even better.

Stock intake is fine unless you have $$$ to spend.

I'm pretty sure the precision intake would make you lose power on anything but a big cube big boost motor.

Stock truck intake all the way. If you want it to look cool then sand it down smooth it out and then body filler and paint.

I will try to use the stock 5.3 truck intake. It looks like it will fit under the hood.

Thanks again guys, your practical knowledge is always nice to be able to call on.
