On mobile version, so hard to search, but what did that turbo put down on your setup? Wonder how it would do in a LS1 with a T56?

They definitely look alot alike! I was thinking of trying a pair of those 57's on my 5.3 t56 280z. I initially found those because I wanted a set of twins to spool like lightning and net me 550-600 hp. They are cheap enough I might give them a try and if they don't work out there are many other t3 flanged turbos that would bolt right in their place.

The 80mm put 800 to the wheels on 18psi through an unlocked 4l80e and a 9". Went 9.51 @147 in the 1/4. It's a blast to drive around but with a 3.0 gear it is pretty lazy at low speeds. Not sure I would want to try it with a 6 speed on the street.

I think i may be leaning the same direction as you elledge.

Oh and just for reference the turbo that was posted up with the first thirdgen dyno video is a 50mm compressor and 56mm turbine

So what size twins on a T56 LS1 would get me in the 800 rwhp ballpark?

You're going to want at least a 62/62 or gt35. Not sure the eBay version will get you there but would probably be close with a t56

Appreciate it!! Hell, even if I could get to 750 rwhp, that's plenty for a street car.

Does anyone know if the turbos I posted on the first page will work on a stock 5.3? the 50.5 compressor and 56mm turbine seem small but i'm only shooting for 550-600 hp. Sorry

I would go with these instead. Just a little bigger on the compressor.

I'm looking at picking up a set of these for my lq4 to see what they will do on the street.

EDIT: I got a set of turbos from that guy. Havent tested them out yet but they were only $129 shipped. Now this guy has them listed for $1150...lol yeah right.

Thanks Rex, I have not seen that turbo size looking through ebay yet. So that turbo would be a 54/56. Anybody have an idea on how these would work out on a 5.3? seems like they should spool fast but will they flow enough?

So 2 of these tubos on a LS1 T56 would be pretty good?

Well I pulled the trigger and went with 2 of these turbos for my stock lq4.

hope to have it all buttoned up in the next few months. I'll post back in here and let everyone know what the verdict is.

you beat me to it! I just have to get rid of this cammed lq4 sitting in my garage to fund it... Apparently people don't like to buy motors around Christmas time. lol

On another note, will those internal wastegates be large enough to prevent boost creep? I was skeptical about them and could not find anything about it on LS motors. If they work it would be a great space saver in a tight engine bay.

Idk about the wg ports being big enough but there is alot of room to port them. So im gonna get to work and port as much as I can. If I end up with boost creep I'll just end up adding a set of external wastegates.

Makes sense. Are you going to run these on a lq4? These turbo's on 6.0 should be a torque monster.

I have the cx racing gt35s t4 and vbands... mainly because i wanted them water cooled...
at the moment with a half *** tune and and worn stock longblock and baby cam it doesnt spool till high 3k which isnt a lot of fun with a 6spd... more like a traction off switch regardless of which gear im in.

I have faith.... with more work i think they will spool much sooner

What longblock and cam combo do you have with these turbos? Are they the CXRacing 61/62s with the .63 AR T4 housing? Any more info would be appreciated. I was looking at these for a 5.3L Auto setup.

Car is 02 z28 and stock bottom end with 175k miles on it. Cam is something like 218/218 and .551/.551 on 116 lsa.

The turbo is this.
