Default what ebay twins?

Anyone have experience with ebay twins for an ls1 t56. Looking for a couple turbos that will spool and make similar power to a single 76.

Would like to go t3. Not sure what a/r would be good for twin t3s

Looked at the gt35 (62/62) but worried that they may spool slow with a t56.

Also been looking at turbos in the 50-57mm range.

Let me know what you guys got!

What size is your motor? I have a couple of GT35's. 61mm units, t3, 4 bolt outlets 3" .63 ar and also 3" vband outlets that are .81 ar. Perfect for twin applications. I have not installed them yet though.

Jim from SpeedInc told me: "If you're on a budget you could do twin 6076E's from Precision turbos entry level line. They have a 59mm compressor wheel and P-trim turbines. Not the newest technology by any means but more capable than a single 7675 and only $1200 for the pair."

It's a 5.7/ t56 I am swapping in a 62 nova. I'm thinking real cheap like a couple hundred per turbo and 1000 in the whole setup. I can always upgrade to something nice later down the road.

Been looking at 2 of these.

I'll be following along to see what you decide. Why twins over a single turbo setup?

I already have a fast single setup and have always wanted to try twins. Also with a 6 speed I'm looking for a little faster spool and would like to do some autocross with this build.

These inexpensive Turbo's always seem like a roll of the dice. Best of luck to you and keep us posted on how they work out for you.

I see. 6 speed here too. I know going with a twin setup is more expensive, but should be better for your application. Looking forward to seeing results.

I'm thinking of doing twin $150 ebay 57trim turbos on my lq4. I'm gonna roll the dice and see what happens. I've seen them run on hondas first hand and they do ok as long as you keep the boost below 14ish psi. After that and there life span is pretty short lived. At leat that's what I've seen.

I couldn't see Twin T3 GT35's taking long to spool even on a T56 car.

The first thing I saw was that this model is a twin scroll, which is not what you'd necessarily want on a twin setup, as you'd have to split the incoming flow. You may not notice any difference, but there may be another option out there that is a single scroll.

Maybe knife-edge the flange and you'd never see a difference. Just my novice 2 cents thrown into the mix.

Turbo you posted only has a 54mm compressor. Little on the small side IMO.

Just need to watch out for tiny exhaust wheels on the ebay stuff. Something like this would have my pick. As a general rule, I like the exh wheel as big as (if not bigger than) the comp wheel. These .6xAR T3's would spool quick I'd guess. Wheel sizes look good IMO.

$222 ea. shipped.

I did u bunch more looking and stumbled into denmah's silverado build thread that he used the t4 .68a/r gt35s on and I'm starting to wonder if that may not be the way to go. His was a cammed 6.0 and ran out of flow on the exhaust side by 5000 rpm. But I'm thinking my stock cam 5.7 should be right around the used able limit of the t4 gt35 and still spool decent.

Seems like this guy did pretty well with these turbos...

From a thread denmah posted it looks like the turbos used were these...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/T3-T4-T04E-Turbocharger-Turbo-63-A-R-Universal-Fitment-/331398742564?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4d28e78224&vxp=mtr
I don't know much about turbos I just remembered watching this video not too long ago.

I guess you really can build a twin turbo setup for possibly less than a single turbo setup if you use these cheaper e-bay turbos. But then again, I guess you could opt for a bigger single e-bay turbo, which would end up being even less.

His very last post says he never measured them, but you may be right. I know there are many china "gt35" turbos with smaller wheels. A 60+ wheel in that housing shouldn't limit a the motor at 5k IMO. He probably had other issues.

That thirdgen looks a lot like my own! I'm running a single ebay/cx racing gt45 80mm

Those 57mm turbos on that other thirdgen looks like they might be the ticket. A happy median between fast spooling and still making decent power.
