L33 for boost

I'm asking this here because it seems a lot of guys are using L33s for turbo applications and that's what I'm planning on.

Are all of the L33s Gen IV internals or were some of them Gen III? Also is there anything I need to look for. Were they DBW? If so, I assume I can switch to cable throttle body? I will be using the stock computer as no aftermarket systems are allowed in the class I would like to run.

Gen 4 internals, drive by wire. Gen 3 computers setup for DBC will run them but you may need the harness.

So get an L33 and then the harness/computer out of an earlier 5.3 vehicle?

Avoid red/green harness and pcm.
