Default New best with the 4L80

First pass with the 4L80, ran a new best

tripping the beams sideways

not sure what happen yet, gonna pull the heads tomorrow. something happen on the drivers side of the motor and pressurized the cooling system and blew the upper radiator hose off after 1000ft. 14#'s, 13 degrees timing, 93 octane. afr was leaner than normal, usually i run 11.3, for some reason this pass was 11.8. she was on on a hell of a pass though so i figure id stay in it cause i didnt think it was too lean, whoops. eighth was 6.51 @ 110.4

be careful out there, **** happens fast

Damn good job behind the wheel.

Flash back story. Popped an oil filter gasket on a 440 one time in the lights in my 69 Valiant (second pass of the day). Same gospel moment as yours but was in the right lane. Took it to town to the car wash on the trailer, new filter and oil. Lost exactly a tenth with conventional oil vs. the synthetic I dumped. Went a few rounds that night to the final 4. My father in law told me I was the luckiest SOB ever. I told him not so much or I would have won. He told me I was lucky and greedy

I ran a System 1 Filter on every race motor after that btw. Have a similar cleanable style in the garage right now from Purolator for that reason going on the WS6 next oil change.

Great job

THAT's why you drain the anti-freeze from the car for racing season.

Nice driving and glad you're ok.

Hell yea man! Breaking loose at 130 and saving it! Looks like your ready for some 10.5 action. Don't let all these compliments go to your head though, there HAD to have been some luck there.

Sweet save, glad you and the car lived to make another race. Thanks for the video, I have my 4L80 getting torn down so it's nice to see your car get down and boogie with one.
