msd "6012" with blow thru setup "cam sensor failure"
Posted in carb section no luck there. My blow thru csu carb setup dart lsnext block basically ls3 valvtrain, Carillo rods callies crank it's a 410 destroked 454. and the car starts right up and runs idles fine but on the msd software it comes up "cam sensor failure" any ideas? I heard about the sensor being to close to the cam gear and putting a washer inbeetween the sensor.the cars not q100% done but I want to figure this out .
That's odd, I didn't have any problems with mine. What cam sensor are you running? Try a known good sensor? I haven't had much luck with other carb blown thru guys on here.
I would think if a real sensor failure, it wouldn't run-maybe just a false reading?

maybe try and reload the program, see if it helps
Like it fires right up idoes perfect just right when it fires it says cam sensor failure and then it goes away once idling the message? Does that mean that it is still failing ? I already did check the wires the guys from msd put the wrong conector on the end of it it was for the map sensor so I changed the connector and swapped the 2 outside wires because I plugged right into the sensor, I read that it could be to close to the cam gear so I put a washer inbeetween the sensor hopefully that gets rid of it will fire it up tonight are you guys grounding your msd to the block of the motor ?
