(New Track time) 10.1@136. 69 camaro SS Turbo 5.3l/lil john stage 3 cam/th400/s476r
I'm finally gonna start my build thread. 69 Camaro SS pulled the 383 stroker and decided the hell with carbs and 6mpg for only 450hp. Car ran 12.0 at 112 and I am shooting for 9's and 800rwhp on high boost after build . Here is a pic of car after I did all bodywork and painted it myself. I've been painting for 15years and is my full time job. Here's my list of main parts for build.
- gen3 5.3l unknown miles but looks pretty clean inside.
- th400 rebuilt no trans brake but reverse valve body 3600 stall
- eBay head studs
- new head gaskets
- lil john / btr stage 3 turbo cam.
- btr .660 dual springs, retainers , seats , valve seals.
- ls1 intake
- 80lb siemens deka injectors
- fbody notched pan
- Vette accessory drive
- billet fuel rails
- aero motive reg. with boost ref.
- a1000 fuel pump.
- devils own stage 2 water/meth with all braided lines and twin nozzles
- MS3 GOLD ls1 plug and play standalone. ( denmah inspired )lol
- apt built s476r t4 turbo with billet wheel 1.10ar
- stock cut truck manifolds
- 2.5" ms crossover piping
- eBay 4" intercooler with 3" piping
- scram speed billet lsx motor mount plates. ( thanks Steve )
- Godspeed 50mm wastegate
- knock off tial blowoff valve
-
I will try to keep this updated as I know it gets boring waiting for progress updates. Lol. I am just finishing turbo kit on car as we speak so I will try and start from beginning and get up the current progress in the next 2-3 weeks.

Great looking ride. For future reference, get an account on an image hosting site, i use photo bucket, and then upload your pictures there and then copy and paste the embedding address (i think thats what its called). That way you can add more pictures than one at a time, and they will be a size that we can actually enjoy. Good luck on the build!

I'm in the process of transferring photos to photobucket so bare with me for a little bit with the smaller pics and all.
So I sold the 383 stroker and began with a gen 3 5.3l. Cleaned up the motor did head gaskets, china head studs torqued to 70ft. Lbs. tick performance 4.8l /5.3l stage 2 cam. 660 btr springs, seats, retainers, seals. Scram speed adapter plates, ls1 oil pan that was notched for crossmember. Tapped timing cover with 90 10an fitting for turbo oil return. This is what I started with engine wise

Dont discount the LS1 heads.
They have bigger intake and exhaust valves and a larger combustion chamber.
You can get a little bit better flow and possibly drop your compression if you wanted.
I believe the the stock 5.3 heads are 61 CC and the 241 heads are 66.6

yeah kinda read up on the heads before i started and seen there wasnt a whole lot of difference and power gain with them so at least i have a spare set anyway. its supposably a minimal gain than an extra pound of boost would cover.thanks for heads up with them tho.
