Need help choosing cam
But that means ditching my new pistons i had made for a 383 motor. But anyway, if the high performance gods shine on Shaun Carter from SMC and he gets some LS6 blocks in i still want a trick blower cam. Now i've seen what killer numbers the Lingenfelter GT2-3 cam puts done. So i looked in Comp Cam's catalog and started picking out lobe numbers that seem small but looking at the GT2-3 cam might actually be just right. What do all you fast blower cars run? The cam Scott WS6 from Cartek is gotta be awesome!! I know blower motors don't like big cams and hate overlap. I was thinking of 2 versions so far:Ver 1: 220/228 .581/.588 116lsa +4 on a XE-R lobe.
Ver 2: 214/228 .585/.575 117lsa +2 ( Lunati grind ).
The Ver 2 cam will have a broad torque curve and pull all the way to 6,800rpm if needed. Actually I'm goingto ask to see if Lunati grinds cams with no advance. Take notice of the LS6 cam. 204/218 and it pulls upstairs but make killer low end cause it has 4 degrees of retard. I'm just brainstorming here. Join in and think of a cam that will be blower friendly at 14psi on a 383.
Thanks,
Den
