Default Lighting off the PT88...

So I recently finished up my build and clearanced for the 295/55/15 tires today. Took it out and did some hits from rolls and all was great. Digs are another story...car cant even generate enough power to do a burnout (not that it needs to because it just HOOKS). Stall allows it to be footbraked up to ~2k, 0 boost. Mind you I dont have a two step, no trans brake. Ideas?

TMS 5.3
317's
4L60e
PTC 3600
3.42 rear
Pump Gas
~640whp

Hey Jon,

I have a smaller turbo, higher stall and even with messing with the timing and fuel, I didn't get boost on the foot brake either.

2 step changed that. I did need to tweak fuel and timing still.

I can footbrake to near 3500.

I see about 4 psi. With my new PTC, hoping for more.

I'd help you, but I can't tune EFI Live cars....

Ya I really, really dont want to have to pull the converter and send it out. If I can only footbrake it to 2k I am scared a 2 step wont help me out either.

EFI live is what we are using.

I am going to try just flooring it from idle as it can flash the converter differently. I really dont want to re-stall. Would rather install nitrous and spray it a bit.

What cam and where is it set at? Forcefed's gonna tell ya hit it with 100shot to get it on the PTC (assuming that it is indeed 3600)

Its a first version Tick Stage 2. 230/231, 602/598

If i could even get it to just 1.8 60' without nitrous I would be happy.

Converter is the only thing that's going to really help you with your combo. You've got a big turbo on a small motor with a big cam, you aren't going to have any bottom end to get onto the converter with unless you loosen it up dramatically.

You will need a new converter or spray to get out of the hole on boost. Been there done that.

Hit it with a 100 shot!

Once you do it, you’ll wonder why everyone jumps through all these hoops to build boost. You can retain a ridiculously tight converter, oversized turbo, big cam… and you don’t need all the other BS the majority of us use to build boost. Best of both worlds if you’re not “power adder” limited by a class.

I swear my next builds gonna be an 8:1 5.3 with twin gt45’s and huge cam.

What stator are you running on the PTC "3600". Got the PN handy? Is it the 9.5"?

The S476 made more than 640 on pump gas no meth at 13 psi? Really...it was a tight enough fit with the pt88, those BW units are stupid sized.

Dont have the PN handy but its one of the $500 converters.

Was the converter new & built to your combo or is it someone else's spec?

Brand new converter built to my spec. We are going to re-do the low end and retard the timing and adjust a/f and see if we can get it to light off.

Try leaner too.
Since you are on pump watch the knock retard.

While I was tuning a friends 6.0 single, it was too lean on the first drives and the turbo was singing big time.

Ya when I checked as I was trying the footbrake it was 9:1 rich and timing was funky. Should be MUCH different once we change that up.
