Turbo LM7 into 97 chevy z71 So building a little side project for my old man. His gen 1 vortec 383 sounds like it is on its way out. Going to foot as much of the bill for him as I can. Found an Lm7 with 317s. Walls/crank/rods look nearly perfect. Going to freshen up the block and throw it in with a small turbo.
List requesting:
Starting with an LM7 into a 97 vortec truck. Adding a small single (67-76mm)
Need headgaskets: Ls9 still good for 550-600rwhp?
Headstuds: ARP vs Ebay/Proform. Which to buy and where?
Springs/Cam/lifters: Any package deals?
Bigger issues:
Bearings: Just for insurance what are stock replacements that are worth the time?
Rings: Needed? If I need to gap what is a good gap?
Conversion harness to retain stock gauges.
