turbo combo opinions
hi guys building a quick street car with a 5.7 ls1 swap and going the turbo route .. just after some opinions as im new to turbo stuff .. so the car is around 3000 pounds, 2 speed glide no brake, convertor will be set once engine is decided but 3500 ish stall speed 3.7 gear and 27'' radial .. im looking at a borgwarner s400sx turbo 1.10 rear t6 foot .. intercooled with a holley mid ram or edelbrock proflow intake .. 1000cc injectors .. cam im not 100% on but looking at 228/230 571/573 on 112 lobe or 224/230 581/588 on 114 .. im aiming for 550-600rwhp on a safe boost level and e85 fuel .. any opinions or help with the turbo or cam selection would be great

That kind of power should be pretty easily attained with that combo - and I think you've got everything pretty well sorted out.
As far as camshafts look into the tick performance turbo cams, they're spec'd very nice, and alot of guys seem to be happy with them.

The S475 1.10 T6 with the big 96mm exh wheels are $600 shipped to your door these days. I'd go that route personally. Allow for less back pressure, a bigger cam, and room to grow... 600whp will be cake with that setup. You'll want more after you hit that mark I'd bet.

they are proven little suckers. best bang for buck and definately a turbo you'll only have to buy once. Plan on going this route once i get the rest of my setup going. wonder what numbers these things have seen on stock cam and intake?

All of your choices are a little big for that power level. Or the turbo listed is too small for the rest of the parts.
For a mostly street low 10 sec setup, a lot run a 7675 aka Precision
PT76GTSH. But they cost more than the BW.
Guys make more than 600whp with a 7675 and your looking at a 7487.
I listed the same part of the wheel sizes for comparison.
The 7487 will have some lag to it with the 87 turbine. The GTS won't have much at all.
A BW S475-83 T4 1.1 (7474) would be more appropriate for the street, power level and budget.
Drop down to a 224/224 113 or a 230/224 115.
Either one will support 1000 at the crank but sound tame.
There's guys that have made ~900 rwhp with 218/218 cams w/ a gen2.
You might want to change to a 3k stall, 3.5 gear and a 28 DR like a MT ET street radial also. What you have listed hasn't worked for most people.
Also, the AL LS1 won't take as much boost as a LS2 or LS3.
Bore out an iron 5.3 if you want a 347 and sell the LS1 to pay for your pistons and rods.
If you want room to turn it up....
Get a cast wheel S476 - 92 or a S480-92 1.1 T6 and build a 6.0. = 1100 fwhp
Use one of the small cams above and the edelbrock XT
