How much timing initially....
Forged 370 (8.6:1), PP Stage 3 LS6 heads, T70
How much timing should I start off with running the following amount of boost:
6lb's - ??
10lb's - ??
15lb's - ??
20lb's - ??
I've never tuned a FI car and heard you run much less timing than N/A. I started a base tune even tho the engine isn't in the car yet. I took the factory table I had (well I had adjusted max timing to 30 degrees) and multiplied it by .6 and that gave me total timing at 19 degrees. I modified the low octane table by .7 but don't remember the total timing off of the top of my head. Now does the rest of the timing table matter, should I keep it at stock or modify it? Right now it's 60% lower than factory. Opinions please....

at any rate with the compression so low i would start off with a completely stock timing table, copy it to the low table so they are both the same.. then i would pull it down to about 24* in the load ranges larger than .6 between 3000 and redline.. start off with maybe 6# of boost. you will have to work your timing table as you go up in boost off of the last load range.. you also need to mention the octane you are going to be running.
