A friend of mine bought one for his ls swapped trans am
It died in less than a week

Some might have had better luck with them but I would skimp on a fuel pump for something that sees boost

I used one of the ebay knock offs for about 2 years without knowing. It was on the car when i bought it. I didnt realize till i sold it to a guy and he chewed my *** out for selling him something fake :-( . Made it right with him and apparently he has been using it for about a year now without any issues also!

DW sell an inline pump they claim performs better than an 044.

Dont really know of anyone using it though, or whether it's reliable or not.

I'd stay away from a known fake. They don't have near the output of a real one and live significantly shorter lives. Even buying a "real" one is getting hard. They have successfully copied the boxes, part numbers, and stickers now. We get a lot of Chinese parts returned to Bosch and people didn't know they weren't OEM.

This has fail written all over it. There are just some things you don't want to skimp on and this is one of them.

300LPH Universal External Inline Fuel Pump Replacing 044 for Bosch 0580254044 | eBay

Despite being some 30 years old, nobody to this day has built a comparable pump that performs like an 044....so for sellers to claim a $50 pump can match one....is just ridiculous.

I wouldnt even try one if it was free unless they can prove 100% their flow abilities AND that they will run forever like an 044 will even at max load.

Biggest problem these days with buying a genuine 044...is finding a genuine 044. The copies are bloody good, but there are dozens of threads on the web with images etc of the genuine ones and copies.

We have had a lot of customers buy a China one thinking it was real. They are junk. If it is under $200, it is a fake. We have had great luck with the real 044 but the China ones support like 200hp less and burn up fast. If you need a real one, we have them in stock ready to go!
