Default Ways to Keep Boost In Check via a Tune...S/C

This may sound newb but....

I am putting a Novi 1500 on a ls7, stock bottom end. I am using Meth, frankly, strictly as a safety function...but understand it will promote more boost and power, which I actually dont want

I know you can swap pulleys and the car will already has a restrictor plate but I'd like to know if and how Boost can be controlled or "capped" via a tune??? Will adj. the timing affect the boost?

Im worried the car may see 6-7 psi, but ideally i want to keep it around 5 psi. I want to keep the added cylinder pressure in check as to not push the limits of the thin walled ls7 block.

thanks.

Not something you can do in the tune. You need a larger pulley. You could do a wastegate to adjust boost but no need for that at your power level.

thanks bud.

someone on cf said 700rwhp cylinder pressure is 700rwhp cylinder pressure, whether boost or n/a.

that said, I could tailor back the rwhp by running less timing at no detriment to the car, right? and thereby getting the rwhp down into the 650ish range safely, regardless of boost??

It's gonna make whatever boost its pullied for. Conservative timing will keep the power down.

Just don't spin the motor high. Set a shiftlight to like 6000rpm and you'll be fine if you don't want to go above a certain amount.

It's only 7psi, never worry about it.

The cylinder pressure will come from detonation, not an extra 2psi boost.

Just make sure it's tuned by someone competent and it'll be fine.
