Turbo 402 for 80 TA.
I have an old 1980 Indy pace car teams am that came with the turbo 301. The original drivetrain is long gone and I have an itch to rebuild and modernize this car. I'm thinking a 402 ls motor with a turbo or two backed by a six speed manual. Reliable 650 hp or so would be my goal. Should be easy enough. Thinking a long block from TSP should fit the bill. What size of turbo? With a relatively modest hp goal should I be considering 2 smaller units instead of one larger one to spool quicker? As you can see, my turbo knowledge is limited, at best. Thanks for any ideas.

No reason at all to go with a built motor. A junk yard 5.3 will do 650 no problem. Twins or single is always a debate. Again, a 75/78 tc,precision, or even cheap on3 will do 650. If you have money to be spent elsewhere on the car Id go that route.
If you want it to look bling bling and you have a ton of money by all means do a badass twin setup. Its would even sweat to do 650 though so kind of a waste.
Skys the limit. Posts some pics of that car!
