Breather setup / valve cover gasket?
Breather setup / valve cover gasket? Boosted 5.3 with only 6 psi right now. Ls1 intake. I am getting an oil leak on drivers side rear valve cover. Oil on firewall and on back drivers side manifold. I am wondering if it's just the valve cover gasket leaking or is there to much crankcase pressure? I have a 3/8 hose going from the port on pass. Valve cover to overflow tank with a breatherand a nipple in where the pcv valve was in drivers valve cover to the tank with breather also. Not getting any blow by in tank. As it has a drain and I have tried twice to drain and nothing. But I keep getting it coming out of valve cover gasket I think. Should I do a gasket and see if it goes away or is my 3/8 line to small ? Do I need a check valve ?
Hey GXR, I'm in the same boat brother and I wasn't boosted yet! The rear lower corner of my driver side valve cover leaks too, I've tried a new gasket and even grinding down the cover bolt stands and it still leaks! I'm about to try a new cover all together because I don't know what else it could be. I don't see any cracks or anything abnormal. I may try grinding the stands some more for more gasket pressure. I also have a similar setup utilizing my stock PCV lines to a mighty mouse catch can then to my intake vacuum source. I'll be following for an answer hopefully.

I would recheck your intake manifold torque specs and ensure that is snugged down properly.
Ensure you are allowing both sides of the engine to breathe. I am running 14# boost and had some oil blowing out driver side rear prior to allowing more ventilation.
Hopefully that IMG shows up.
On the driver side, i attached a PCV valve directly into the driver side valve cover and attached a 3-4 foot rubber hose to it...dumping just beside my oil filter (little bit of butter goodness)
On the passenger side, i attached 1 of the 2 valve cover ports to the crankcase ports (near the throttle body) and "y'd them" into an catch can...exhausting to atmosphere.
i now have no pressure issues in my motor and am making 710 rwhp/tq at 14# boost with no issues.
