Default what pistons and rods for turbo?

I got an 01 long block for the turbo engine that I plan to build. I was goung to use the stock rods, but it seems that the guy who took it apart decided to mark the rod cap#s with a center punch on the machined side (where the cap spins against the crank, or the other rod on the journal) It looks like I will be needing some new rods, and I was wondering if I should go aftermarket or look for some stock rods. My hp goal is 650whp with a single turbo and aluminum block. The other issue is pistons and which ones to use? Where to buy these parts is also another question. It is a good stock bore.

the bearing should cover that and be fine as long as it's smooth/flat. Stock rods with arp rod bolts will be fine. As far as pistons, any of the sponsors can get you what you need....do you have heads yet? If not, consider a set of truck #317 heads with the ls6 type ports and bigger chambers to lower your compression. If you want to go cheaply, do this : forged low compression pistons...stock rods with arp rod bolts...gm MLS head gaskets...stock heads...ls6 intake.....any cam (including the stock cam) 42# svo injectors and a dual intank fuel pump setup. This combo will be good for 600rwhp all day long with of course a large enuff turbo and proper tuning and octane.

Stock rods are good for this HP level? What kind of HP level do they break? Yhe caps are punched on the small machined lip on the side of the cap, if it were if it were under the bearing I wouldnt be worried. I might take you up on the rods Hawk, I live in Columbus.

a few guys have had stock rods with about 700rwhp and they held up. not real sure how long they will last or how much power they really can take, if you get all the detonation out it should be fine

just let me know on the rods, and next time im over at c-bus i can drop them off.
