Default New PB with Precision PT8285 CEA

Boooo. no bumper dragging on this run, but got a new PB on my Forged LS1 and PT8285 CEA BB turbo.

I set aside time to go to Great Lakes Dragway Saturday with my son and test out some of the new changes i've been making. I've upped my timing to 23* and hitting about .80 Lambda in my VE tables to richen up AFR from what it was previously. Boosted ethanol cars love around .75-.80 it seems. I also installed a new Boost Leash/Pulse Leash combo box to control boost. It's a boost by time system that has multiple stages with a bump box feature. I didn't get to test out the bump on the line but it does work. Just have to give it a chance next time maybe. I also set my 2step to 3600rpm and stiffened up my front shocks a little to keep the wheelies in check. Previously I stood on the bumper having the fronts too loose and 2step at 3800rpm. I only got one pass in Saturday using some starting place values so that I'd launch at about 10psi and ramp to about 20psi.

After that I had shut it down for the day. I sorta lied to the tech guy about running bottom 11's because he teched me hard as he didn't recognize me as a regular. I was asked sternly to get my **** set with a killswitch, trans blanket, neck brace, etc. Since I was there with my son I decided to watch some races with him and help my buddy tune his HHR SS.

Here is my setup. I know i'm doing it completely wrong by some peoples standards but it's working alright for me.

I'd say you are doing it all right.
Nice results!
A little hard to read the time slip. 9.12@141?
You really get it done in the first 60 feet! Not sure my Nova will ever get there. At least on the foot brake.
BTW, I run mine at .77 Lambda as well.

damn near in the 8s. nice pass man. Did you say 3,900 lbs with you in it?

are you running out of rpm's with the 3.54 gear?

just curious, but what did you make on the dyno?

Not sure what it makes on the dyno. Been trying to tune it at the track. I'm right up there an almost out of gear which is unfortunate because the s60 can only go down to a 3.54 gear which is what I have.

Here is a how much the car weighs without driver. I weigh in at 200lbs and I've since switched out the PT7675 for the PT8285 which is a good deal heavier and added a fire extinguisher so I'm pretty sure its right on that 3900lbs or higher even. Hooks up great though.

28" tire and the cam is 225/225 .581/.581 113lsa. I was hitting about 6500rpm at the trap I believe.

My log says I was at 6533rpm when I hit 149mph

Nice pass bro. I follow you on Youtube and I was glad when I seen the new vid pop up. That 60ft tells a lot. Pretty dope that the car weighs 3900lbs and moves out like that. Since Im LT1 im trying to cut weight and hopefully I can go low 10s high 9s...... You most def are motivation for me. Keep up the good work........

This thing flies and looks effortless doing it. Sometimes I'm jealous of such light raceweights.

The PT8285 CEA BB will spool slightly faster than a PT88. If the 8285 is the non BB version then it will be nearly identical. By all accounts it seems based on track MPH/weights the 88' tends to make more power. Example: MightyMouse went 159 at 3800lbs on his PT88.

Physically they seem to be very similar. I currently have a PT88 on a Huron Speed V1 setup with stock radiator location and it fits just fine.

How much boost and et was MM pushing and what was the motor configuration. I've got a little more in it I can go. I only hit 20psi but should have enough to crank up to 23psi before my pumps start to dive hard. Dual 340's ftl.
