Yes I would love to send it to someone and am willing to pay for your time it takes to fix it
Microsquirt is bad ***, not junk.
It took me a while to get it figured out also. I was lucky that a few people on a local car forum were close to ask questions and get help from. Stick with it and you will be happy in the end.

I talked to Mike at efi source he was helpful and Said it sounds like a firmware problem he said he would email me a file that he uses to load on the microsquirt
For anyone needing the latest firmware that works with a ls1 microsquirt, go here.

Here are simple Firmware updating directions in case you cant find them.
Click on the firmware 340 download link on the website listed above
Click on Agree
Select Save As and put the zipped file on your desktop
Go to your desktop and right click on the downloaded file
Select extract all
Then the Extract button
Open the extracted file folder
Disable any antivirus programs and any other running programs
During the following, do not open any other files, run any programs or click on any window
Double click on the file named 'ms2loader_win32'
A Command window will appear with directions
Follow the onscreen directions
Click on the firmware 340 download link on the website listed above
Click on Agree
Select Save As and put the zipped file on your desktop
Go to your desktop and right click on the downloaded file
Select extract all
Then the Extract button
Open the extracted file folder
Disable any antivirus programs and any other running programs

Also FWIW I had issues with my USB/serial adapters disconnecting all the time. Locking up the PC etc. I went with a $9 china PCMCIA Express Card and it always works. I can unplug the cord with the engine running and plug it back in and it doesn't skip a beat.

PCMCIA or Express, you can get serial adaptor cards for either.
Even fewer have serial ports though. Hence if you have a system that requires a serial port, best bet for 100% reliable comms is buy an old laptop for that purpose.
If you're lucky and do get a USB adaptor that works, dont install too much other crap that also use a lot of USB drivers that may then **** up your USB-serial adaptor
Really though, it's ridiculous any "portable" electronics these days should use a serial connection given how few laptops have that option
