Default An iron 408's life story

About 6 years ago now I had a 383 in my 02 ws6 with a d1 and nitrous and long story short... It pissed me off so I cranked it all the way and hit the button and lost all 8 pistons, 2 rods and bent the crank I had the crank fixed by a local bad ***, bought two rods, a new piston set, an iron block and built the one motor that has brought me the most joy in my life.

Bumper mock up

Issues on first Dino day where it 850 rwhp at 5280 elevation

On the street roll racing was big here but it died so after a couple no prep events it was nice to build a new car but the same ole 408

I bought this car with the plan to take the turbo ls setup out of the ws6 and really try to get much faster on no prep surfaces

Next step was to get the nova ready for the boosted ls, first thing I bought for the car was this bad *** rear end off ls1tech.

Finally together this is its first real no prep race. Not a track, but pit road for an old Busch track

Third race vs a nitrous Chevy 2, 10 sec car

First race on new set up vs 11 sec Porsche

Second race vs low 10 sec blazer

This race vs a 9.3 gtr made realize I need to be able to add power depending on the day and datalog

Able to pull him for a sec, then with no real way to add more power in the tune he'd put a fender on me

Decent launch
