Wastegate poll - Turbo V8 experience required
Hi there, I would like to collect some sample data about wastegate selection and the aftermaths.
Have you put together a Turbo V8 in the last ten years?
Was this setup using 7 to 15psi of boost pressure? More?
When you purchased the wastegate spring for that boost pressure, did it fail to reach the rated boost pressure?
What was your solution for adjusting the boost pressure?
Could you have saved any time or money by knowing in advance anything related to exhaust gas pressure ratio, or "drive pressure" ratio of your combination? If so, what was it.
Thank you

This is not going to go well but I just drank a bunch of coffee and will respond.
Yes
Yes, up to 20psi.
Yes but it was close.
Pressed a couple buttons on the controller and called it good.
No not really but after researching its effects it prompted me to change my turbo to a more efficient free flowing turbine wheel to reduce back pressure.

8 pound spring yielded 9psi manifold pressure on gate. (twin China MVS40's)
Home made boost control
Nope. My set up (100% fabed by me) worked just as planned, hell even better really!

Twin tial 38's. True divided 2.25" hotside on 5.3L with a 1.05A/R T4 GT45.
5.xx springs netted me around 6.00PSI
10.XX springs I am getting bang on 10.00
I adjust using a innovate SCG-1
Also I reference my wastegates from the turbo outlet and my gauge reads from the intake.
