Another lq4 4l80 built thread.....
Decided it was time to make a build thread! Little background info to bring everything to date... I bought my car in 2013 with a spun rod bearing and deployed the next day lol. I got home in 2014 and started on it...
Swapped in an lq4 with 243 heads a custom grind cam and a 96mm profession products intake, which made 430whp 417ftlbs thru an m6 and stock 10 bolt. Car trapped 116, never made a clean pass...
I decided i wanted more power and here i am.... current setup is, LQ4, 243 heads, TU2 cam, ls6/80mm throttle body, truck manifolds, home built hot and cold side. ON3 88/83 turbo. JGS 50mm BOV and waste gate. Backed by a 4l80e. Going to be run on e85, meth injection if needed.
Plans were to have the car driving by now, but plans change. Right now the interior is stripped, removed hvac, air bags, factory seats, speakers etc etc. Started mocking up Jegs 8pt cage. I am also going to pull the engine and install the trunion upgrade as well as gap the rings.
I plan on pushing this turbo/setup to make as much power as it can. Everything I have read states i will have some back pressure issues, which is a major concern of mine. How worried about back pressure should I really be with this turbo? Will the compression with the 243's hurt even more?
