Default Top end for 370 twin setup

I would like to know what everyone would use for the heads, intake combo and CR for a 370 iron block, forged, twin BW 366, air to air E85 build. Going in a 3400lb 315 radial car. Thanks for the input.

I'm running trick flow 6 bolt heads on an lsx block with a fast 102 intake. 9.5/1.

Without stating your budget, which is of course; the ultimate decider...

The Trickflow 220 As Cast is a great performing cylinder head that is easy on the wallet. If you have some cash laying around, I would go ahead and buy your forever head and maybe step up to the Trickflow 245 6 bolt and just be done, not that much more expensive really. You're going to want a 6 bolt application sooner or later given your setup. I'm a cathedral guy.

You can buy everything from Brian Tooley and/or Little John Motorsports (LJMS) and they are really the guys to talk to from the beginning stages... which it sounds like you certainly are.

Budget isn't a big deal. As far a forever head, 4 bolts will be fine with this setup. Car is only certed to 8.50 and it is a true street car. I will build a 6 bolt engine for the 7 second street car,. I'm thinking the 30 over cylinder walls will be the weak link with this setup. Just was wondering if guys where having good luck with the 225 heads or 215, or bigger. Thanks for the input

Twin 66/65 journal bearing turbos, 370CI motor with L92 heads and LS3 intake here. 9.5:1 CR on E85. Haven't really pushed the car at the track yet but I drive it on the street a lot. Through a Glide and roughly a 2900lb car there is 0 lag. I leave in low gear 4000rpm (60mph) and before you can squeeze out a fart the car is shifting into high gear and pegging 15-20lbs.

Aside from a little thicker deck, I see no advantage to running a big dollar aftermarket head? An untouched 317 will EASILY put you in the 8.50 range with the right turbo. Why not use the turbo to do the work? Decent port/valve job with some nice SS valves on a set of 317’s is cheap/efficient and more than enough head for an 8.50 goal. The block should be replaced when considering high dollar heads IMO, it’s the “weak link”.
