Are 1/2 head bolts needed with 6 bolt heads?

Default Are 1/2 head bolts needed with 6 bolt heads?

Hey guy, im building a lsx build. 440 ci tall deck, auto with 94mm turbo. looking to make around 1600 crank hp on e85. im debating if i need to do the .5 head studs if i do the 6 bolt heads?

I did them on my LSX build, i think it is worth the extra piece of mind having them there knowing that I'm not going to run into issues keeping the heads on it when I start throwing boost at it. But im the kind of person that would rather overbuild than under build at those power levels, im looking to make around 1500whp so its in the same ballpark. I would give Kurt a call hes got the studs in stock.

I wanted to get them in my Thompson long block but they said they have several 2000+hp motors running without them and it wasn't necessary

I opted for the 625s. Comparable fastener capacity and no machining
