I did it and never got pulled over. Wasn't real loud, and mine came out the drivers side.

okay. my main thing is just staying under the cops radar. i had a cam LS2 vette before corsa sports and that was never even an issue.

Also this is a change of topic but i cant find for the life of me what to do for a catch can setup and what to keep and not to keep for PCV system. I have stock valve covers, has anyone threaded anything in the driver side rear grommet instead of welding anything?

I have a full exhaust on mine but a cut out right off of the turbo on the drivers side. Its loud enough to me to not want to run around with it open all of the time.

This is true. I had a car with duals at the axle before and they are comparable. My biggest issue with it isn't the loudness but more the sound quality. It sounds more like a car with open manifolds imo. But, I couldn't afford an aftermarket K at the time so it's just something I deal with for now.

Well it does go through the turbo so it is muffled some. It is loud though just not open manifold loud in my opinion.

It's pretty close to that but not quite as loud.

Word.

I had a short 3" dump on my T-type that went into the fender well that I used on the weekends at the track & street racing. It wasn't bad at idle but was quite loud when I got on it. Never got pulled over myself, but I did get sick of the noise. Haven't done it since & don't plan on doing it again. I just grew out of it.

I have come to more enjoy silent & fast than loud & fast. I hated running next to open header cars at the track. They can spend $30k on building a race car but won't buy $100 worth of mufflers for fear of losing a tenth or 2 to not keep the noise down & not **** off the people that live near the track. It's one of the reasons so many tracks have been shut down, even in rural areas. It also doesn't help the hot-rodder image when people hear it on the street.

I contemplated this for a while lol. I'm glad I went cutout. I run a full 3" to the back bumper through the biggest Magnaflow muffler I could fit out back and it's the best of both worlds. I can cruise quietly and enjoy my music with my 5 year old son in the car. When I wanna get stupid loud I open the cutout right under me feet and after a while its more than I can handle noise wise but sounds absolutely wicked, especially when the car is loping at a stop light. The difference in turbo spool is also very noticeable. $.02

Run a 4" cutout to the 4" bumper dump. Then run a crush bent 2.25" single system off the down pipe to an OEM muffler in the back and it will be stock honda quiet. I have about 6" of 2" pipe and its quiet enough to talk on the phone comfortably with no muffler and the dump closed. Pretty obnoxious with the dump open.

This is my whole exhaust system... (added a turn down on the 2" pipe since. Made a surprisingly large difference)

Do something like what Forcefed86 has... I have a 5" comming off the the turbo and exiting out the fender on my Regal. Hate it, even though its a weekend toy. Just sounds bad, and its not that its way loud, it just doesnt have a good clean sound to it. Maybe if I had a nice sounding cam it might be better.
As soon as I get a T6 turbo Im going to put a round straight thru muffler on it and get a electric cut out on it and run a 2" pipe off it like Forcefed86's setup.

So forcefed the small pipe is for when the cut out is closed and it dumps under the car? And you say it's pretty quiet? Also does your exhaust exit out of your fender with the cut out open?

I've got a cut out that runs straight off of my turbo and dumps on the drivers side and it's pretty loud and obnoxious. When I close my cut out it goes back to the rear out of a MagnaFlow catback but it's set to go into low boost when I close it. I've been thinking of doing something to take the heavy exhaust system off and that looks feasible if it isn't too loud.

Mine has been this way for quite a while. Electric cutout to fender, full exhaust with multiple mufflers out the back. Stock quiet when closed

Can see the Union in this pic

No holes in the fender. Dumps under car by passenger wheel, yes its pretty quiet. I run E85 so fumes aren't bad at all. When I run straight pump gas fumes are bad in cab. I'd want true fender dumps or exhaust out the rear for anything driven daily or not running E85. Left mine simple for the weight savings.
