4l80 I got a bid on a 02 3/4 ton 4x4 chevy. Rusty, but runs out good for 200, 000 miles. The trans has less than 10,000 on it, can you change tail housings and make it a 2wd? I'm going to part it out, I'll leave it together until I sell the eng, that way they can hear it run. The trans would bring decent money if it will go into a car without changing tail shaft or something big.
The output shaft on a 4x4 trans is shorter, to use it on a 2wd you have to completely disassemble it and install the 2wd output shaft and then get a tail housing.
Note: Compared to 5 years ago the value of a 4l80e has dropped significantly, they are really only worth $200-300 as a core now. GM built more than 1000 per day for years, so the market is really saturated now...

The trans is prob worth more for a 4x4, they get hard use and usually could use a trans
You have to change the output shaft and tail housing (make sure the ring is on the shaft, 4x4 has it in the carrier)
Used rebuilt stuff is iffy, I just look at it as a core, unless I personally know something about it
