Do you use a check valve in the vacuum line?

No, I believe depending on which direction it is installed, it can hold it open or not allow it to open properly.

^ hes right. the pressure built from the turbo is what holds the bov shut. Once you release the throttle there is no more pressure holding the valve shut so it opens and releases the excess pressure in the charge pipe. a check valve only lets the air travel one way therefor rendering the bov useless.
