Default Twin Derale 16925 Wiring Question

Hey all....going to run my Derale fans for the turbo setup like factory. What wires do I tap for the trigger wire? I bought the Racetronix harness

http://www.racetronix.biz/itemdesc.a...WH-006&eq=&Tp=

Just looking to see which wire to tap for trigger. Is it:

Pin 42 (Green)
Pin 33 (Blue)

Where do I tap them from? I see some say they just take the Light blue wire from the factory fan connector. I'm kind of lost

I believe the two connectors on the right would connect to the fans no? The one connector on the lower left would be for the trigger? Not sure here.

I'm not help to the poster either. Would you use 1 wire or 2 for the trigger?

with my derales i was pulling too many amps with my factory harness, i noticed the wires started geting hot to the touch. I ended up running a larger fused wire from the battery to the fan, and just used the factory wiring for the signal to turn fans on/off.maybe thr harness you have would have benefited me from having to do all this!

if I remember right, my 01 had a blue wire which was for the high speed fan relay control and the green was the low speed but I didn't need to tap into anything I used my factory relay to shoot thr power to the fans. I'm betting someone on here has already used this exact same kit you have and knows alot more than i

On my 00 camaro SS I taped the Blue wire on one and the White for the other. Used factory Derale harness.

Search the threads on here. I hooked mine up to a blue and a green wire I think. There is a thread on here that tells you the pin number I believe.

I used the Derale harnesses (one for each fan) and upgraded the fuses cause they're **** lol. I used the factory fan power wire to trigger the relay and used the ground for the fan ground. There's a factory ground on the core support that works perfect for a mounting location and relay ground location. This way they come on independently of each other just the way the factory fans did. I've been running the car this way for two years and had no problems.

You can see the relays just to the left of the charge pipe and the factory ground I used. The red wires are for the fan power and go to the factory power post.

I did the same as ******. Used the factory Power wire to trigger the relays for derales wiring. I also agree on the shitty factory fuse in the harness. lol

Hey I'm following this thread closely. The original posted posted for a (3) relay harness. Didn't the Derale come with a 2 relay harness?

Would you tap for trigger differently between the be 2 relay or 3? The 3 relay harness should operate like factory.

Would you do this: just go to the PCM....pull the wire for 42 and 33 (low and high fan operation) and connect to the racetronix harness?

I bought a painless pwm fan controller. I run a derale 4000cfm duel fan set up with it . It works mint soft starts the fans on low then ramps up and down according to cooling needs.

I was going through the same situation. I used the supplied harnesses, spliced the two yellow signal wires together, and connected it to a BLUE wire with a spade type connector that was in a loom with a white/light gray wire, the blue is the high speed I believe. It worked fine at first, but then it popped a fuse in one of my harnesses, and wouldn't work even after replacing the fuse. So right now, my trigger wire is connected to the fuse box so the fans come wide open as soon as I turn the key. It is VERY loud. The wires are located near the drivers side edge of the radiator, and not to be confused with the wires beside the hood latch with a weather pack connector. Sorry if I sound like an idiot, I just hope I'll be able to help you out as I was having the same problem.

I ended up buying the painless PWM fan controller . Best thing I ever did . It soft starts the fans and ramps them up and down according to temp . Both fans on high pull 70+ amps , plus my car don’t sound like an airplane when I pull up .
