Automatic Trans for Turbo Question
I am new when it comes to torque converts and I have a few questions.
The 4L60E in my 5.3 Turbo was purchased used and all he knew about it was that is has a "Stage 2 Shift Kit".
It came with the converter and shifts hard so it has some sort of kit in it.
Now my questions are in regards to the converter.
I see people talk about blowing through the converter. What does this mean and how do I know if have that happen?
How do I know what stall my converter is and if it is good for my engine?
What else should I be looking at when it comes to the converter?
Any help would be appreciated.

depending on power level you might consider a multi disk lockup convertor which will hold the power, (600 rwhp and up). don't go crazy loose on the stall either. 3200 seems to be about right depending on rear gear and cam.
the automatic loads the turbos well and unlike NA you don't need to go 4k and up on stall for a street driven car.

Blowing through the converter is when it cannot decrease slip% higher in the RPM range and continues to slip as if it's stalled to a much higher RPM. Therefore you end up going much slower in a given year than you should.
Its very similar to a clutch slipping in a manual. You hammer the gas, the clutch doesn't hold very well. You should be doing 140 in 4th gear at 6000 RPM but it's slipping so hard you're only going 100 on the limiter.
