He is worried about heat transfer , others worried about sweating.... But they are one and the same

The core sweats because the cool surface is condensing water out of the air

Insulate the core and both disappear

Im using this tank that is used for the back of tractors for spraying crops. I have also seen them being used at the track for prep. I got it at Harbor Freight as a open box deal for $45.00 it was missing the drain plug cap. It came with a electric pump, hose, and even a car wash style hand sprayer wand. It works good for my A2W setup, but once the heat soak come in it takes too long for it to cool back down. I only keep about 5 to 7 gallons of water in the tank. I have another inline electric water pump like in the other pic left over from my sbc/fiero days that Im putting in now.

maybe surround the water tank with 1" foam like others have said (based off of a 4x8' sheet cut into sections).... then spray that once installed with lizard skin to make it look good vs. a hacked together hillbilly box!

I need a solution for the sweating also for my aluminum water tank in the trunk of my '69 Chevelle project.

I had some heat soak issues in the Chevelle we just got running. I added some hood vents and they did a great job of minimizing heat soak. Without the vents the hood was acting like a hot air balloon and coolant temp as well as intake temp would rise if the car idled for a while or if it ran and was shut off for 15-20 minutes and restarted. The vents need to go in the front 1/3 of the hood to take advantage of the lower pressure area when the car is moving. They also helped some of my airflow issue (trapping air in the engine bay) when moving by allowing all the trapped air to escape which makes the car run stupid cool when cruising. ECT runs between 146-164 while cruising. When stopped and sitting at idle, it is amazing how much heat I can see escaping through the vents and when you place your hand over them it feels like a blow dry on high heat.

Just ran the car in True Street at Super Chevy Show in Memphis. It was the first 3 full quarter mile passes on the car. When we went on the thirty mile cruise, we were stopped twice by the same funeral procession which resulted in us sitting and idling for 5 minutes the first time and another 15 minutes the second time. When we got back from the cruise, they gave us 15 minutes of cool down before doing the 3 back to back to back passes and there was only 2 minutes between passes. They did their best to magnify any heatsoak/cooling issues. My car's ECT peaked at 190 that whole time and my IAT stayed below 140 with a 417 intercooler. I only had time to put 15# of ice in the A2W tank since the cool down period was so short. Set up is a 430ci ERL block with twin 7575 turbonetics with up and forward headers so it can make some heat. Car was driven to and from the event also, no trailer.
