Mid rise compared to which intake? The high rise? No doubt, it has the most performance potential on the market without getting into custom intakes or sheet metal intakes. Assuming he has a stock LS intake or truck intake (which flows surprisingly well) there can be performance to be had. The look of the intake might be what the OP is going for where the mid rise has the same top, but it isn't as tall and has a different lower plenum design. Either way he goes, the turbo is going to force air through the intake and into the cylinders, but he is more or less asking whether it will fit the hood.. I didn't see him say anything about performance and nothing about his goals.

I actually fit a LS7 Holley Hi Ram under a 2" cowl hood by cutting the bracing up underneath.
