bad tuning could be why, bad build, etc etc.
Just stick some studs and LS9 gaskets on it. Although even stock 4.8 MLS gaskets should be able to hold 15psi all day long, and all night long if tuned correctly.
MLS gaskets just work, and I'd prefer OEM versions over aftermarket in most cases...plus they're usually far cheaper anyway
