If I didn't already have an intake I would buy it just to try it out. It's a clean looking intake and would look great in my engine bay.

Since I'm not a smart guy.......this is posted in forced induction.....so.......turn up boost if you find a restriction.
(This is actually an honest statement, not just smart ***=).

With parts like these, (ya know the ones that cost a helluva lot less than what they are a copy of????) You have to consider there might be a give/take situation in the build/performance of a comparable peice.
I'd rock one ina heart beat.

The give or take will usually be quality.

Even a mega expensive sheet metal intake is going to suck down low...just the same as the Holley/Symbol intake will suck below 6k.

I cant imagine one of these blowing up within a year or two, unless the engine sees a hell of a lot of use...which not that many really do ! lol

Certainly the quality has improved a lot from the earlier versions...no different than Chinese turbos really. At first they were totally and utterly *****, nowadays they're actually very usable.

For the money though I'd agree, they're cheap and look half decent. If one would fit my car, and I used over 7k regularly, maybe even 8k then I reckon one of these would be a good call.

If you never go above 7k...then you're only buying it for looks, as it's never going to work that great below it compared to some other intakes.

But they're big V8's, they'll always make a load of power anyway

They make less power than the stock truck intakes everywhere below 6000 RPM, and far less torque at average driving RPMs. Sure, they do have their scenarios, but 98% of builds wouldn't benefit at all from them.

A fair bit, although I think someone posted a link to another one a few days ago that was lower.

edit...the one in the first post of this thread looks very low, it'd probably be safe for most cars.

The Symbol/Holley one mentioned above would be the taller one

Symbol doesn't make any of them.
A factory in China does, and then companies like Symbol, SLP, Assault, Speedmaster, ICT Billet, and Show-N-Go (and a dozen other companies) just resell them.

I don't know anything about this Symbol company but their website clearly states the LS manifolds are proudly designed and built in the USA! Clearly the 2 videos were not filmed in China.

I saw my first "tall" version last night on a car.

The plenum would flex alot when blipping the throttle.

And it sounded very "tin-ie" Like hollow and thin. It was weird.

The ones I had seen on Ebay recently boast a "new" design made of thicker material. Like the one linked on the first post. I saw an early model in person and they looked like 18-20g material. I haven't seen one of the newer ones.

this one was probably bought about a month ago, maybe a little longer. Not sure where that lands it in design revision.
