Not too bad for a 4000lb daily driver. With the intake. Its got an easy high 8 seconds in it.

With ll# of boost mine has blown apart right in the middle of the top back weld all the way across. Maybe I got one of the first thin ones.

Any pics ?

Their advert claims around 1/8" does it not ? I know I had to cut/modify mine slightly...and no way was it that thickness.

For those with the Holley intake and rails...

Where your rails a piece of **** too ? in that the supplied fittings are clearly o-ring fittings. There is a very small taper in the end of the rails....however this taper is clearly too small for the o-ring, and the o-ring gets totally squished and actually squeezes out visibly between the fitting and the rail ?

I did decide to run it like this as on a pressure test it held, however after taking things apart after the head blew off, it's quite clear these o-rings are already beginning to perish

Anyone else have any experience with the Holly Sniper Intakes? I'm wondering if they've gotten any better over time?

I only bought mine at Xmas, direct from Holley.

Really..I have very little positive to say about them other than they're cheap and look decent when installed.

Although on the car and actual driving, didnt seem to have any issues ( other than blowing the head off my engine, but I'd hope that wasnt intake related )

I still cannot figure out why Holley did this. I had a bad feeling when instead of using their nice rails, they used the ones from the same TSP or Symbol or whoever it was that was making them. I'm not opposed to China made but they clearly cut corners to grab money on this one. I almost purchased one for the looks but I'm glad I didn't. Unfortunately it makes you second guess other Holley products.

The rails are **** too.

Visually, they're fine...but the taper at each end for the o-ring fitting....on mine they're different !

One end the o-ring fits ok....not perfect, but ok. The other the taper is far too small and the o-ring gets chewed up. It didnt leak for the short time I was running, but I did take it apart and as expected the o-ring was fucked.

I've bought some smaller thickness o-rings to see if that will help matters, failing that I'll weld a fitting on ( supplied rings are 2mm dia, I bought 1.5mm to try although I dont think they'll be ideal either.

Ok .Order cancelled. Any recommendations for low profile sheet metal intakes that won't require a 2nd mortgage?

There are a few guys using the Holley race version...whether quality is any better or not, who knows. But being made in same place, same way etc....it's hard to imagine quality is much different.

Although from point of view of blowing apart, the actual construction of the race version with the bolt on lid should make it a lot stronger. That said, there are people using the cheap basic version successfully.....although there also seem to be a lot who arent !

The G1Pro guy seems to offer very good units at a fairly reasonable price. That said...may months after appearing, there only seems to have been about 1 user to get one and actually put it on a running vehicle and unfortunately they had engine troubles first 1/2 mile event with it so no real definitive results.

There was another user on the Vette forum who had one, but strange it was up for sale very soon after. But I havent seen any users ranting about how great they are or have been performing. But from a fabrication point of view, they do look superb.

LOD Speedworks is another, but it's still at the higher end of pricing for what it is

not to discourage you but I think mine was the original thin one and it fit the ports great. Jus too thin. The newer ones are 3mm thick and should last. My next intake will be the proflo or another high intake. Might even take a chance an order another sheetmetal one.

That's quite a selection, thank you!

I like the lodspeedworks but I'm not sure if it would fit under a stock C5 hood? I'll call tomorrow
