Show us a pic of the burn hole in the hood after the run without the gate! It had to be shooting a flame out of it.

We ran it with the hood off. It would pop a little flame out of it when he would clean it out before staging. But it wasn't as bad as you would think.

That's because it isn't working properly. Hard to tell the angles on the pic you posted but I couldn't make half a pound when my gate stuck open a bit.

For those interested it went 6.59 at 103 10.5 lbs do boost on 93 pump gas. Made 8 passes yesterday. Air intake temps at 245*. Pulled the head light out and they dropped to 225* 11.5* of timing.

They were only holding the pro tree .5 seconds before dropping it so we were leaving on .5-1 lb of boost and in full boost by 1.0 seconds into the run.
The last run we turned the boost up another .5 lb and it went a little fat and didn't pick up as much as we expected went from 11.1 to 10.4 afr

We shifted it at 6400 and went through the traps at 7000 (stock rod bolts)

Any shots of the plugs? With a little washer fluid pre turbo u shud be able to lean it out quite a bit. Pump gas wont be happy that rich... Id target 11.3ish and 12.5 with decent water meth kit.

I will pull a couple and post pics in a couple days but it looked good to me not that I know what to look for but you could see heat a couple threads into the plug and the timing mark looked right before the bend and just a touch of soot on the end of the threads.


Just asking why will pump gas not be happy in the 11.1-10.5 range. I know that's on the rich side but I feel one pass lean at 225* intake temps might be its last.

Gas has a pretty narrow peak power range... throwing in extra fuel to try and cool things off and fight detonation works to a point, but it costs a lot of power. I'm not saying lean it out the way it sits. But if you got a decent amount of water/meth injected pre turbo it would cool things down a ton in the turbo/CC and allow you to get the AFR ratio closer to where it makes peak power on gas. Those temps are getting slightly sketchy anyway IMO. Simple homemade aux inj kit with some windshield washer fluid would help alot.

Yeah I understand it's not making peak power at that afr. I think the trucks owner and me are leaning toward putting a aem meth kit on it. I have ran them for years on diesels that get driven every day I have been pretty impressed with there reliability.
