I won't disagree with you there. At 20 psi I was seeing 1.8:1 back pressure around 6500 and 2:1 at 7000. I just wanted to see what it would actually make so I put pressure only on top of the gate. I only stabbed it for a few seconds and I'm it spiked from the exhaust valve floating. Everything I've read says when back pressure suddenly spikes crazy it's from exhaust valve float. People have made 25 psi with this same turbo on a 6.0. Even at 20 psi it still gains 25 hp per psi.

Makes sense to me. I see a lot of cars that spin right after the front tops out way before the 60ft. Mine included.
I have the Viking DA front shocks. Last week I added three clicks to the extension, and I couldn't even pull the front end up by hand. Sadly, I didn't get to race the car.

I will be racing today and tomorrow so I have lots to play with. I shimmed all my valve springs up, finally finished last night. What a **** that was. Almost all of my springs were at 160 seat except 2 of them on #4 cylinder were 10 lbs less. Kinda odd but most of them are now 180 / 430. There is noticeably more valve train noise. In my quick test hit in 2nd gear the converter flashed 400 rpm higher than it previously has been under boost.

Its probably placebo but it seems to rev much faster but we will see what it does today in this heat. Track should be prepped well and maybe I can squeeze an 8 second pass in.

So I think shimming the springs was a bad idea on these comp 850 lifters. I'm not sure yet but the top end is making some unpleasant noises now. I will be pulling the heads, hope it isn't too bad. I did get my car to leave well and I was creeping up on some nice 60' times. Some day I will beat the orange car ;D

I feel like valve float gets blamed more often than it should.

Engine needs to come out, bearing material in the filter. Looks like I spun a bearing somewhere. Odd thing is it didn't lose any oil pressure.

You didn't necessarily lose a bearing. I know it sounds silly, but I have what looks like glitter oil EVERY oil change. Got paranoid and didn't trust the motor last year and pulled it down, EVERY bearing was perfectly fine. Will probably get flamed but it's true. Now, I don't even sweat it, was actually pissed that the bearings were fine..... but hey...better safe than sorry.

I'm confused. Did you get a 8 or did it blow up?

No 8 but close, I was just uploading videos from the weekend. It didn't exactly blow up I just heard a faint ticking on the top of the motor after my solo pass so I trailered it home. That's when I cut the filter open and saw metal. I drove it 45 mins to the track in 95 degree heat and these were my passes

Perfect rumpled up time slips!
Bummer about the metal in the oil. Glad you heard the change in noise and checked.

Get signed up for West Coast Shootout 2 in Sept. Going to be a good time!

LOL I shoved all of them in my pocket because they didn't have an 8 on them!I found a 05 5.3 with 250k miles I'm thinking about picking up to throw in her. I will be on vacation during that time and I'm not even sure when I will be able to get the car going again.

What injectors at what baseball pressure? How far have these dual walbro 450's taken you and what duty cycle are you at right now?
