Default What to run??

Long story short I have two supercharger kits. One is a P1sc with a red bov and the other is a P1sc1 with a bpv. I can cherry pick from both sets so which one would be best for my vehicle? 00 SS m6. Stock besides LTs and true duals. Thanks!

If everything on both kits is basically the same besides the P-1SC having a red race bypass, I would go with the P-1SC-1. Bob

Thanks Bob I actually have one correction to make. The P1sc has a vortech Mondo bov #8D003-10 and the P1sc1 came with what I believe is the stock procharger bpv (pic). Like I said I have both kits so I can take what I like from either of them. I'm thinking p1sc1 with the vortech bov? I'm looking to run around 10lbs of boost if that matters.

You're welcome. Yes I would go with the P-1SC-1, as it won't take nearly as small of a blower pulley on it to make boost. The larger the pulley, the more belt wrap you'll have. Ex (o/O) Bob

More than likely you would need the 8 rib. The 8 rib uses a 7.65 crank pulley, the 6 rib uses a smaller 6.0" diameter. The 6 rib requires such a small pulley on the head unit that belt slippage becomes a real problem to get 10 psi. Bob

The stock J Bracket works fine at 10 to 12 psi, past that is when a spring loaded tensioner really helps help. Many years ago we ran my Camaro with an F-1A with the stock J Bracket at 18 psi, we had to tighten the belt every single run. Back then the only aftermarket serpentine option was the SDCE bracket, we ended up making our own cog bracket. Bob

Awesome Bob. I have one 8 rib pulley for the blower but I'm not sure of the size. Any size I should be looking for in particular to get around 10 lbs?

For a P-1SC-1 probably around a 4.0" for 10 psi with headers and exhaust. Thanks. Bob

Do I just need the ATI balancer to use the 8 rib upgrade or is it more involved than that? I'm on your site and the options list is a little daunting haha

Yes, the 918853 balancer is needed to work with the 8 rib crank pulley. The above two links might help you out. Thanks. Bob
