1,000rwhp turbo 6.0 build 317's or LS3's?
Ok, putting together a twin Borgwarner S366 turbo 6.0 with Callies crank, rods and forged pistons combo. Have both stock 317 castings and stock LS3 castings. Will send off either set to be ported, good valves, springs retainers etc. Also have Holley Hi ram will be used for either head. Cam will be spec'd accordingly. Planning on running on pumpgas with meth on the street and E85 on anything over 15psi. Also have a Holley Dominator for fueling along with some 160# injectors and a powerglide for transmission to get the power transferred..

Ok this setup is for a car we are building at the shop. I like the LS3 heads also but have been seeing all these stock 317 head 6.0's running low 8's, Brian Tooley and LJMS swear Cathedrals make more power on boost. Just trying to get the most out of this setup. It's going into a 240 so it will fly either way.

People will argue it to death. I went with L92 heads due to how cheap the LS3 intake was. They flow better than the cathedral port factory car intakes. As stated earlier you really can't go wrong either way. 317's are cheap. Maybe you can sell the LS3's and put that money back into the build.

Ok we decided on going with the 317's for a few good reasons. The heads are actually L92's with the big heavy valves and both BTR and LJMS agreed the 317's would make more tq and HP under the curve which is what gets a drag car from A to B. Will put the L92's and Holley Hi-Ram for sale and looking for a stock set of nice 317 casting heads for this build. The 317's that were at the shop have since been used on another build.
