Budget Turbo For 700 rwhp

Budget Turbo For 700 rwhp
Curious what budget turbo would be best for my setup. Looking at doing a single turbo setup, T4, and my car is a 6 speed manual and will continue to be. I'd like to be at 700 rwhp when all is said and done. I'm just wondering what budget turbo would be best suited for my setup. Budget wise, the On3 and VS Racing turbos are in my price range. I'm just not that familiar with turbos and all the ins and outs, so please help me out. The "AR" size is what's particular confusing for me.

What do you consider 'budget'?
Less than $1000?
Less than $500?
T4 S475 is less than $1000 and will make 700whp on almost any engine depending on turbine wheel size.
On3/VS 7875 is a couple hundred cheaper than T4 S475 and can make ~800 wheel with a manual trans.

If this is a street car, I would not recommend the 88mm. Yes, it will work.....but will likely hate it pretty quick. The 7876 will make less power, but will be more fun...more responsive. A .96 will be fine for street/strip duty. All of this is assuming you are using something 6.0 and under.

Thanks guys. My friend will be doing all the fab work, so it will be a custom setup. Sounds like the ON3 78/75 will be good for my setup.
Now debating on keeping my current heads (AI Dart/RHS) or selling them and getting some 317's. My current heads have killer flow characteristics and have great exhaust flow numbers. Will that be beneficial for a turbo setup?

If the heads flow enough for the cubic inches you're running, then anything bigger is almost irrelevant for boost. Not only does your engine have the exact same CFM demand (but at a different pressure), but you actually increase CFM numbers with boost, which is why stock heads do so well.

That's very enlightening. I know a lot of guys run AFR, TFS, etc. heads on their turbo builds, and since the heads I have flow so well, I just figured it would be much easier to reach my goals. But, if I can get there with some stock casting 317's, I could sell these heads and use that to fund the turbo build.

You looking for something that simply works, and has a smooth idle? Or are you wanting a cam that jams?
