Default First Ls

Alright guys, new to the forum here. this is my first LS engine, its going to be going in a 1973 Dodge, hopefully with a t56 if i can get my hands on one without going completely broke. Its going to be a mostly street, occasional strip car. It had a stroked 500" big block 440 in it but it needs rebuilding and im tired of driving straight from one gas station to another, so i found an iron block 6.0, and a set of ls3 heads and my hope is to do a twin turbo build. So my question is about turbo choice. Ive never messed with turbos on a gas engine, but ive been around diesels all my life so im not sure how they react to certain size turbine, compressor housings, etc. I found a gt45 with these specs.
COMPRESSOR:
trim: 69
A/R.66
Inducerd: 68.7
Exducer: 97.8

Turbine:
Trim:92
A/R:1.05
Inducer:87.4
Exducer:77

The main thing im worried about is the 1.05 A/R turbine housing. I think its going to be hell to spool on the street and im wondering if they would work with a smaller housing, something like a .81 t4 housing

How much power are you wanting to make?

I don't really have a set goal in mind yet, more just trying to see how much I can make and it still be street able

I'd like to hit at least the 700hp mark. Car won't be daily driven just every now and then and on weekends, but I want to have the option to drive it any time I want to that's why I was thinking turbos

There are any number of builds on this forum that you could basically copy/paste into your chassis and easily achieve your goals. Also, if you only want 700rwhp, you could still get pretty good gas mileage, as you wouldn't need a large cam. BTW, twins look cool, but are nearly twice the potential failure points of a single setup, and cost more. The only reason I would do twins over a single would be packaging constraints.

well the 700 goal is for now, i will eventually want to step up. Im just trying to start lower until i get use to how the ls engines act. i plan on going ahead and doing all forged internals so that i wont have to worry about the bottom end later, and i know turbos are a great way to crank the horsepower up, just up the boost. The car was initially a 318 small block car, and even fitting the 440 with headers in it was a challenge so space is kinda tight thats why i was looking more toward twins
