Default Manual boost controller question

I've got a DIY boost controller that consists of a ball and spring. It's plumbed between the intake track (pre throttle plate) and the lower port on the gate. In testing, if I apply shop air to the gate (without the controller) the gate cracks at about 6 psi and is full open at about 12-14 psi. If I install the MBC, each half turn results in the gate cracking 2 psi later (1/2 turn=Cracking at 8 psi, another 1/2= cracking at 10 psi, etc.) but still fully opens at 12-14 psi. I've been running the car at the 6psi cracking position. Could I expect faster spool at the 10 psi cracking position with the same overall boost seeing all settings fully open the gate at 12-14 psi? Hope this makes sense.

Yes, it will spool faster. That is the main benefit of the spring in the manual controller.
