Twin Billet S366s on a 408 Help...
im doing a 408 with 10.5-11:1 compression, somewhere in that margin. E85 for fuel, heads probably will just be some 243s/317s until I can afford to purchase some trickflows. Setup will be intercooled by a A2W Type 22 Frozen Boost intercooler with a 10gallon aluminum tank equipped with a Rule 3700.
the turbos in question are a pair of Billet Wheel S366s, they have a 73mm turbine wheel, .91 a/r turbine housings, and are T4 flanged. My goal was to mount them Behind the cab (in the truck bed) truck is a Single Cab S10. Just wanted to get a couple opinions
It was a 408" with 9.5:1 compression and used twin S366's with cast wheels, 73mm turbines and .91 AR housings. The customer brought us a set of TFS 215's that he had previously used on his old 383 N/A motor. We sent those 215's to Chris Frank at Frankenstein Racing heads and he did one of his newer programs at the time on those heads. They ended up around 248cc port volume and he put a 2.100" intake valve and 1.600" exhaust valve in as the 215's came with 2.040" intake and 1.575" exhaust valves. Ran a Super Victor intake with a low profile elbow and a 92mm throttle body. Cam was a 233/237 116+5. Matt at Tick designed and built a really nice air to air intercooler for the car using a bell air to air core and did the fabrication on the turbo kit.
On 14psi and pump gas with meth it made 920rwhp through a T56 and a 9". On 25psi with pump gas and meth it made 1120rwhp on 12-13* timing. Tried turning it up to 26-27psi and it overshot that 26-27psi target boost and made a little over 30psi. That pull was aborted at 6300-6400rom and it still made a little over 1300rwhp on pump gas and meth. The motor mas making peak power around 6600-6800rpm so had the pull kept going to 7000rpm I truly believe it would of made well over 1350rwhp on 30psi.
The billet 66's are worth even more of course than the cast 66's.
